Association Between Red and Processed Meat Consumption and Risk of Prostate Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Generous intake of red and processed meats may increase a man's chances of developing prostate cancer.

This study examined red and processed meat consumption in relation to the development of prostate cancer by means of a meta-analysis. Researchers reviewed data from 25 studies involving nearly 2 million men.

Researchers found out the odds of developing prostate cancer were stacked against red and processed meat consumers. "This systematic review and meta-analysis of prospective studies indicated that increased consumption of "total meat" and "processed meat" might be associated with a higher risk of prostate cancer," the authors concluded.
