Alcohol consumption. A leading risk factor for cancer

Fondness for alcohol may result in a surge in cancer development and mortality risk in men and women.

This research work studied the effect of alcohol intake on cancer incidence and mortality globally. Researchers utilized data and information drawn out from relevant scientific publications. 

According to the researchers, alcohol was responsible for more than 350,000 deaths from cancer worldwide in 2016. This study recommended the formulation of public health policies targeted at reducing the burden of cancer through decrease in the rate of consumption of alcohol.
