Legume intake and cancer risk in a network of case-control studies

Creating more room for legumes in our menu may help fend off colorectal cancer.

This meta-analysis summarized the findings of studies that focused on the relationship between legume intake and the risk of developing cancer. Researchers utilized data from Italian and Swiss studies published between 1991 and 2009. 

Researchers noted that  colorectal cancer risk decreased significantly with high dietary ingestion of legumes. This study emphasized the colorectal cancer-protective effects of legumes.
