Associations between fruit, vegetable and legume intakes and prostate cancer risk: results from the prospective Supplémentation en Vitamines et Minéraux Antioxydants (SU.VI.MAX) cohort.

Fondness for legumes may help halt the development of prostate cancer.

​This study determined the role fruits, vegetables, and legumes play in the prevention of prostate cancer. Researchers analyzed data from 3,313 men who responded to questionnaires on their dietary habits. 

Researchers discovered that men who consumed the most amounts of legumes exhibited the lowest risk of prostate cancer. The data from this study show that regular intake of legumes may confer men with significant protection against prostate cancer.
