The relationship between whole-grain intake and measures of cognitive decline, mood, and anxiety-a systematic review

Avid consumption of whole grains may lead to better mood and less worries in men and women.

Can our choice of diet affect our mood, cognition, and anxiety level? Using data obtained from 12 previously published studies, this meta-analysis attempted to provide answer to the above question.

Researchers observed that frequent consumers of whole grains enjoyed improve mood and reduced level of anxiety. The results of this study indicate that creating more slots for whole grains in our menu may have a positive impact on our mood and make us less anxious.
