The relationship between sweetened beverage consumption and risk of heart failure in men.

Regular intake of sugar-sweetened beverages may increase a man's susceptibility to developing heart failure.

This study examined the correlation between the frequency of consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and the odds of suffering from heart failure in men. A group of Swedish researchers assessed the dietary and health records of over 42,000 men between the ages of 45 and 79 years.

The research team discovered the likelihood of having heart failure went up with increased intake of sugar-sweetened beverages. Evidence from this study indicate that men who are lovers of sugared beverages may have a high propensity to develop heart failure.
