The Dose-Response Relationship between Alcohol Consumption and the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes among Asian Men: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Prospective Cohort Studies

A man's love for alcohol may boost his chances of acquiring type 2 diabetes.

This meta-analysis reviewed the findings of previous studies that focused on alcohol use in relation to the subsequent development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in men. Data from 8 studies were analyzed for this study. 

Researchers found out that drinking more than 57 grams of alcohol per day resulted in a hike in type 2 diabetes odds in men. This study emphasized that heavy consumption of alcohol may spur the onset of type 2 diabetes in men.
