Relationship between Ultra-Processed Food Consumption and Risk of Diabetes Mellitus: A Mini-Review

Boarding the ultra-processed food train may put an individual on the path to developing diabetes mellitus.

The purpose of this study was to review the link between fondness for ultra-processed foods and the possibility of acquiring diabetes mellitus. Researchers sifted through data and evidence drawn out from relevant studies. 

Researchers identified a harmful association between greater intake of ultra-processed foods and higher risk of type 2 and gestational diabetes mellitus. The findings of this study revealed that indulgence in ultra-processed foods may favor the development of diabetes mellitus.
