Diabetes mellitus associated with processed and unprocessed red meat: an overview

Indulgence in processed meats may lead to the development of diabetes mellitus.

This meta-analysis investigated whether the consumption of a meaty diet is strongly linked to the development of diabetes mellitus. Researchers analyze data and evidence drawn out from a pool of 14 studies. 

Researchers noted an unfavorable association between greater intake of processed meats and heightened risk of diabetes mellitus. This meta-analysis pointed out that preference for processed meats may increase an individual's susceptibility to diabetes mellitus.
