Fondness for soy foods may help cut down mortality rates from cancer, cardiovascular ailments, and other chronic diseases.

This meta-analysis focused on the relationship between consistent ingestion of soy foods and the likelihood of dying prematurely from cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other causes. Researchers sifted through data obtained from 23 studies.

Researchers noted that soy food consumers had slight chances of suffering from deaths arising from cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other causes. "Our findings may support the current recommendations to increase intake of soy for greater longevity," the authors concluded.
