Ultraprocessed beverages and processed meats increase the incidence of hypertension in Mexican women

Women who enjoy consuming ultra-processed beverages and processed meats may have a high risk of having hypertension.

This study determined whether preference for ultra-processed beverages and processed meats can predispose a woman to hypertension. Up to 3,752 out of the nearly 65,000 participants were diagnosed with hypertension during the course of the study.

Researchers noticed that hypertension was prevalent among lovers of ultra-processed beverages and processed meats. This study demonstrated that high consumption of ultra-processed beverages and processed meats may make a woman more likely to become hypertensive.
