Alcohol consumption and psoriatic risk: a meta-analysis of case-control studies

Fondness for alcohol may increase an individual's predisposition to psoriasis.

This study explored the influence of alcohol consumption on the risk of developing psoriasis using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers reviewed the results of 15 relevant studies. 

A trend towards increased risk of psoriasis was observed among alcohol consumers in this study. Evidence from this study show that alcohol intake may favor the development of psoriasis.
