Meta-analysis of the association between cigarette smoking and peripheral arterial disease

Cigarette smoking may favor the development of peripheral arterial disease in men and women.

This study focused on cigarette smoking in relation to the development of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Researchers conducted a comprehensive meta-analysis on data obtained from 55 published studies. 

Researchers found out that the odds of peripheral arterial disease occurring in cigarette smokers were high compared to never smokers. This study concluded that cigarette smokers are prone to suffering from peripheral arterial disease.
