Dietary Antioxidants and Risk of Parkinson's Disease: A Systematic Review and Dose-Response Meta-analysis of Observational Studies

Upping the intake of foods packed with antioxidants may confer individuals with significant protection against Parkinson's disease.

This study evaluated the link between high dietary exposure to antioxidants and the odds of developing Parkinson's disease using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers conducted a meticulous analysis on data pooled from 14 studies involving over 3,000 individuals. 

Researchers found out that Parkinson's disease occurred at a lower rate among consistent consumers of antioxidant-containing foods. Evidence from this study demonstrated that eating foods rich in antioxidants may be beneficial for the prevention of Parkinson's disease.
