Current Smoking Raises Risk of Incident Hypertension: Hispanic Community Health Study-Study of Latinos

Current smokers may have a high probability of becoming hypertensive.

This research work studied the connection between cigarette smoking and the likelihood of developing hypertension. Researchers analyzed 6-years worth of lifestyle and medical records extracted from US Hispanic adults. 

Researchers observed that current smokers had an upward surge in blood pressure numbers. Evidence from this study showed that active cigarette smoking may give rise to hypertension.
