    Hi, I’m a newbie to this website and group, joining today after watching Dr Carney on Chef AJ’s ‘The Truth About Weight Loss Summit’.

    It wasn’t the first time I heard Dr Carney talk about caffeine, nuts and alcohol. I watched last year’s summit, gave up coffee for a few weeks before caving in to my addiction. However, several months later I suffered a dreadful reaction to coffee, twice! It felt like I was having a heart attack but it wasn’t anything to do with my heart. I haven’t touched coffee since, I’m completely over my addiction and will never drink coffee again. The pain and fear is too much.

    I’ve been WFPB for 7 years after watching FOK but I’ve never been completely compliant, succumbing to high fat vegan foods too often. Initially losing just over 20kg I’ve been struggling to lose the last 8-10kg for years. I’m 67 years old next month, on no medications and in good health. However, I know this can’t be right and can’t last as the visceral fat I carry is damaging.

    5 Weeks ago I fell down some steps, broke my leg and tore both a lateral ligament and my miniscus so I’m still in recovery. My biggest fear is that I will gain weight during my convalescence so I started following Chef AJ and Plantiful Kiki and its been going well. I’m determined to not get on any scales for 12 weeks because I’m a ‘scales junkie’.

    I’m trying to focus on improving my health rather than just weight loss as I know that will happen naturally. I want to eat WFPBNO for the rest of my life and never diet again.

    Sorry for the long post. I guess I’m using this opportunity to confess haha.

    Hi I just joined yesterday after hearing Dr Carney at the summit. Great talk! I had never heard about 17 ways caffeine inhibits weight loss. This helps a lot to overcome my long time on and off struggle with a diet coke addiction. I am a 71 year old man who has followed a vegan diet for over nine years.
    Sometimes my vegan diet has been very good and sometimes my addiction to Sugar, fat, and oil has sabotaged my best intentions. My diet has been good enough so far to stay out of the hospital but not enough to overcome markers of heart disease and diabetes and obesity. When my pre-diabetes recently climbed into the diabetes zone I knew my life depended on a new commitment to action. I have committed to the Heart Smartes Plan. Yesterday my first day on the plan was delightful. the food ways great and and I had no trouble waiting for the next mealtime. This new for me. Also drinking much more water is new for me as well. I can fell the benefits already. my weight is down in one day 1.5 lbs. ( salt) My Blood sugar is down. i feel deeply rested from more sleep and there is joy in my heart. I know I can do this with the support of this group. Thanks such for being here and for creating this website.
