Healthful plant-based dietary pattern and risk of hepatocellular carcinoma in a multiethnic population: a cohort study

Boarding the healthy plant food train may provide an individual with a protective cover against hepatocellular (liver) cancer.

This study looked at the impact of consuming a diet filled with healthy plant foods on the burden of hepatocellular (liver) cancer. A total of 722 out of the 170,321 men and women who volunteered dietary information were diagnosed with liver cancer over a 19.4-year period.

Researchers observed that followers of healthful plant-based diets were less likely to suffer from hepatocellular cancer than their counterparts who avoided these foods. The data from this study support the inclusion of healthy plant foods as part of a liver cancer protective diet.
