Daily dietary isoflavone intake in relation to lowered risk of depressive symptoms among men.

High dietary exposure to isoflavones may improve a man's chances of staying-free from depression.

This study looked at how consistent consumption of isoflavone-rich foods affects a man's chances of experiencing depression. A total of 1,335 Japanese men aged 19-83 participated in this study and were assessed for their dietary choices and incidence of depression.

Researchers observed that increase in the frequency of consumption of foods containing isoflavones lessened the risk of suffering from depression. This study provides further evidence that fondness for isoflavone-ladened foods may help to ward off depression in men.
