Dietary beta-carotene intake and the risk of epithelial ovarian cancer: a meta-analysis of 3,782 subjects from 5 observation studies.

Increased consumption of diets high in beta-carotenes may significantly cut down epithelial ovarian cancer risk.

This research work investigated the effect of high dietary ingestion of foods rich in beta-carotenes on epithelial ovarian cancer risk. Researchers reviewed data extracted from 5 observational studies that examined 3,782 subjects.

Researchers found out that regular consumers of diets high in beta-carotenes had slim chances of developing ovarian cancer. High dietary intake of beta-carotenes was found to decrease ovarian cancer development risk by 16% in this study. The findings of this meta-analysis show that consistent consumption of beta-carotene-rich foods may help prevent the development of epithelial ovarian cancer.
