Raw Garlic Consumption and Risk of Liver Cancer: A Population-Based Case-Control Study in Eastern China

Eating raw garlic regularly may help curtail the development of liver cancer.

​This study explored the relationship between the consumption of raw garlic and the incidence of liver cancer in China. Researchers surveyed a total of 9,944 Chinese men and women for a period of 7 years. During the course of the study, over 2000 participants were diagnosed with liver cancer. 

Researchers discovered that frequent intake of raw garlic resulted in a decline in the risk of liver cancer. This study shows that fondness for raw garlic may help to ward off liver cancer.
