Perceived dietary salt intake and the risk of primary liver cancer: a population-based prospective study

High dietary ingestion of salty foods may raise the risk of liver cancer.

​This research work was carried out to determine the role salty foods play in the development of liver cancer. A total of 97,006 men and women volunteered for this study and provided information about their diet and health. 

Researchers noticed a surge in liver cancer risk with increased intake of salty foods. This study documented a positive association between salty foods and liver cancer development.
