Lower Fiber Consumption in Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies

High dietary ingestion of foods packed with fiber may brighten a woman's chances of keeping polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) at bay.

​This meta-analysis focused on the relationship between the consumption of fiber-containing foods and the occurrence of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in women. Researchers compiled data obtained from 13 relevant studies. 

Researchers found a low incidence of polycystic ovarian syndrome in women on high fiber diet. The findings of this study reveal that generous intake of fiber-rich foods may help guard against the development of polycystic ovarian syndrome.
