Dietary fiber and fiber fraction intakes and colorectal cancer risk in Chinese adults.

A high-fiber diet may help lower the risk of colorectal cancer.

​This study assessed the relationship between high dietary ingestion of fiber and the tendency of developing colorectal cancer among Chinese adults. More than of 1,200 men and women participated in this study and were observed for their dietary choices and colorectal cancer incidence.

Researchers discovered that frequent consumption of generous portions of foods rich in fiber, including vegetables and fruits, diminished the risk of getting colorectal cancer. The data from this study suggest that eating large amounts of fiber from dietary sources may help prevent the occurrence of colorectal cancer.
