Fruit and vegetable intake in relation to prostate cancer in Iranian men: a case-control study.

Adequate intake of fruits and vegetables may help guard against the development of prostate cancer.

​This study examined the correlation between fruit and vegetable consumption and the incidence of prostate cancer in Iranian men. Data from 100 healthy men and 50 prostate cancer patients were evaluated, including dietary history. 

Researchers found out that a decline in prostate cancer risk was associated with increased intake of fruits and vegetables, particularly apple, pomegranate, cabbage, and tomatoes. This study highlights the preventive effects of fruits and vegetables against prostate cancer.
