Consumption of fruits, vegetables, and risk of hematological malignancies: a systematic review and meta-analysis of prospective studies.

Indulgence in fruits and vegetables may be beneficial in the prevention of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

This meta-analysis was carried out to confirm the protective effect of diets high in fruits and vegetables against hematological (blood) cancers. Researchers analyzed data obtained from relevant studies on the subject.

Data analysis revealed a protective association between combined intake of fruits and vegetables and the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This study strengthens the evidence that eating lots of fruits and vegetables regularly may help to curb the development of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
