Nut intake and stroke risk: a dose-response meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies.

Adequate intake of nuts may significantly cut down the risk of stroke.

This research work was carried out to determine the correlation between the consumption of nuts and the risk of stroke by meta-analysis. Fourteen cohort studies were included in this meta-analysis. Researchers observed that subjects on high nut diets had slim chances of developing stroke. The results of this study support the hypothesis that increased consumption of nuts may be beneficial in the prevention of stroke.
