Dose-response association between physical activity and blood pressure among Chinese adults: a nationwide cross-sectional study

Engaging in physical activity may improve an individual's chances of staying free from hypertension.

This study aimed to provide additional evidence supporting the beneficial effects of physical activity on blood pressure control. Researchers obtained information about the lifestyle habits of over 200,000 Chinese men and women via questionnaires and regularly measured their blood pressure throughout the duration of the study.

Researchers discovered that participants who were physically active enjoyed healthy blood pressure numbers and diminished risk of hypertension. Based on the data from this study, it can safely be concluded that adopting a physically active lifestyle may help to fend off high blood pressure (hypertension) in men and women.
