The risk of new-onset diabetes in antidepressant users - A systematic review and meta-analysis.

​Individuals on antidepressant medications may have a high likelihood of developing diabetes.

This study explored the relationship between the intake of antidepressant drugs and the risk of developing diabetes using a meta-analytic approach. A total of 20 studies were included in this meta-analysis.

Researchers discovered that the use of antidepressants increased the risk of developing diabetes. The findings of this study reveal that taking of antidepressant medications may facilitate the development of diabetes.
