Boarding the high fiber diet train may drive down the risk of dying from cancer, cardiovascular ailments, and other chronic diseases.

This research work investigated how greater ingestion of high fiber-containing foods, such as fruits and vegetables, influence mortality risk in men and women. Researchers studied the eating habits and the number of deaths recorded among 48,632 Iranian men and women over a 14-year period.
