A systematic review and meta-analysis of nut consumption and incident risk of CVD and all-cause mortality.

Generous intake of nuts may lower cardiovascular disease and total mortality risk.

This study examined dietary intake of nuts in relation to cardiovascular disease and total mortality risk. Researchers conducted a meticulous meta-analysis on data extracted from 20 published studies. They found out that regular ingestion of large servings of nuts reduced total mortality risk and decreased the likelihood of suffering from cardiovascular disease and sudden cardiac death. The findings of this meta-analysis reveal that diets loaded with nuts may protect individuals from cardiovascular disease and deaths due to other chronic diseases.
