Dairy products and the risk of developing prostate cancer: A large-scale cohort study (JACC Study) in Japan

High dietary ingestion of dairy products may promote the development of cancerous cells and tumors in the prostate gland.

This study assessed the risk of prostate cancer associated with the consumption of dairy products. Researchers matched the incidence of prostate cancer with dairy food intake levels in a study population comprising of 26,464 Japanese men.

The team of researchers observed that prostate cancer occurred at a higher rate among frequent consumers than in non-consumers of dairy products. The results of this study show that fondness for dairy foods may increase a man's chances of coming down with prostate cancer.
