Cigarette smoking and risk of Hodgkin lymphoma: a population-based case-control study.

​Cigarette smokers may have a high tendency of developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

This research work was carried out to determine whether cigarette smoking increase the odds of developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Researchers collated and analyzed data on the smoking habits and incidence rates of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in a study population comprising of more than 4,000 subjects.

Researchers discovered that current smokers had greater risk of developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma than never smokers. Data from this study suggest that cigarette smoking may be a risk factor for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
