Carrot Intake and Risk of Developing Cancer: A Prospective Cohort Study

Adequate intake of raw carrots may help halt the development of different forms of cancer, including leukemia, lung, pancreatic, and colorectal cancer.

This study sought additional evidence supporting the cancer-preventive benefits of carrots. Researchers matched the frequency of carrot consumption with cancer incidence among 55,756 Danish men and women.

Researchers found out greater intake of raw carrots correlated with lower risk of leukemia, lung, pancreatic, and colorectal cancer. This study further lend credence to the hypothesis that generous ingestion of raw carrots may confer individuals with significant protection against several types of cancer, including leukemia, lung, colorectal, and pancreatic cancer.
