Citrus fruit intake and bladder cancer risk: a meta-analysis of observational studies.

Consistent consumption of citrus fruits may help reduce bladder cancer development risk.

This study assessed the role of citrus fruits in the prevention of bladder cancer. Researchers conducted a thorough meta-analysis on data obtained from 6 cohort and 8 case-control studies. They observed that subjects with high dietary intake of citrus fruits had low risk of developing bladder cancer. The findings of this meta-analysis show that generous consumption of citrus fruits may help prevent the development and growth of cancerous cells and tumors in the bladder.
