Coffee consumption and risk of myocardial infarction: a dose-response meta-analysis of observational studies.

Habitual intake of coffee may up the risk of myocardial infarction in men.

​This study assessed the effect of coffee consumption on the risk of myocardial infarction (MI) using a meta-analytic approach. A total of 17 studies were included in this meta-analysis. 

Researchers observed that men who drank 3 or more cups of coffee daily exhibited a high risk of experiencing myocardial infarction. The results of this study show that coffee drinking may contribute to the onset of myocardial infarction in men.
