Alcohol consumption is associated with excessive risk of multiple sclerosis: a meta-analysis observational study

Beer drinkers may be at risk of developing multiple sclerosis.

This meta-analysis evaluated the results of 9 studies that examined the relationship between alcohol drinking and the possibility of developing multiple sclerosis. Over 220,000 persons volunteered for these studies.

Researchers noticed that beer drinking drove up the risk of multiple sclerosis by as much as 58%. Evidence from this study support the notion that alcohol consumers may have a high propensity of suffering from multiple sclerosis.
