Alcohol and breast cancer in women: a pooled analysis of cohort studies.

Regular drinking of alcohol may fuel the development of breast cancer in women.

This study examined whether consumption of alcohol can increase a woman's risk of developing breast cancer. Researchers conducted a meta-analysis on data extracted from 6 studies involving more than 35,000 women.

Researchers discovered that the odds of being diagnosed with breast cancer went up with increase in the frequency of consumption of alcohol. This study supports the notion that alcohol might be a risk factor for the development of breast cancer in women.
