Is smoking a cause of erectile dysfunction? A literature review.

​Smokers may have a high probability of suffering from erectile dysfunction.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between cigarette smoking and the likelihood of suffering from erectile dysfunction by meta-analysis. A total of 18 studies were included in this meta-analysis.

Researchers observed that the risk of suffering from erectile dysfunction was 1.5 times higher in smokers than in non-smokers. The results of this study show that smoking may be a contributing factor to the development of erectile dysfunction.
