Evaluation based on systematic review of epidemiological evidence among Japanese populations: tobacco smoking and total cancer risk.

High cancer risk is associated with tobacco smoking.

This study investigated the relationship between tobacco smoking and total cancer risk. Researchers analyzed data extracted from 8 cohort studies. They observed that tobacco smoking was associated with an elevated total cancer risk. The findings of this study show that smokers are more likely to develop cancer than non-smokers.
