Can I get off of cholesterol medication even though high cholesterol runs in my family?

Although some individuals may have a genetic weakness for high cholesterol and it runs in their family, a Starch-Smart® diet has been shown to be effective in lowering cholesterol to safe and desirable levels. Dietary and lifestyle choices play a remarkable role in influencing the expression of these genes. Genetic weaknesses may be present, but nutritional choices have the ability to either turn on, or turn off the initiation and progression of disease. An individual's family history only matters when they emulate the same diet and lifestyle that their family did.
