Boarding the high fiber diet train may drive down the risk of dying from cancer, cardiovascular ailments, and other chronic diseases.

This research work investigated how greater ingestion of high fiber-containing foods, such as fruits and vegetables, influence mortality risk in men and women. Researchers studied the eating habits and the number of deaths recorded among 48,632 Iranian men and women over a 14-year period. 

Researchers observed that mortality rates from cancer, cardiovascular ailments, and other chronic diseases were low among generous consumers of fruits and vegetables. Indulgence in fruits, vegetables, and other fiber-rich foods may slash an individual's risk of suffering from deaths arising from cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and other causes.
