The consumption of wholegrain is related to depressive symptoms among Chinese adults: a cross-sectional study

Consistent consumption of whole grains may help to keep depression at bay.

This study clarified the association between the intake of whole grains and the likelihood of experiencing depressive symptoms. Researchers collated and analyzed data on the eating patterns and mental health of 24,776 Chinese men and women.

Researchers discovered that symptoms of depression occurred at a lesser frequency among consumers of whole grains compared to non-consumers. This study emphasizes the important role whole grains play in the prevention of depression.
