Excluding red and processed meat from our diet can increase our odds of staying free from colorectal cancer.

This study estimated the number of colorectal cases in Denmark that could have been prevented by the avoidance of red and processed meats. Researchers analyzed data and projections made over a 30-year period by Statistics Denmark.

Researchers noted that more than 35,000 Danish men and women could be saved from colorectal cancer between 2016 and 2045 if they completely eliminate red and processed meat from their diet. This study showed that taking off red and processed meat from our menu can significantly lower our chances of having colorectal cancer.
