Ardent consumption of ultra-processed foods may put an individual on the path to developing type 2 diabetes. 

This study investigated whether likeness for ultra-processed foods is tied to increased risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D). Data from over 100,000 French men and women were utilized to estimate the odds of developing type 2 diabetes according dietary habits. 

Researchers noticed that participants at the top of the ultra-processed food consumption ladder exhibited high tendency to acquire type 2 diabetes. This study offers further evidence on the type 2 diabetes-promoting effect of ultra-processed foods.
