The purpose of this study was to examine evidence from past studies that reviewed the association between high dietary ingestion of legumes and the possibility of developing cardiovascular disease. Data from 21 studies were utilized for this meta-analysis.

Researchers discovered that consumers of generous amounts of legumes, up to 400 grams per week, enjoyed significant protection against cardiovascular and coronary heart diseases. This study recommends that the intake of legumes as part of a dietary approach for the prevention of cardiovascular and coronary heart diseases.
