Consumers compared to non-consumers of ultra-processed foods may be highly prone to die from cardiovascular disease.

This study looked at the connection between eating a diet rich in ultra-processed foods and the propensity of dying from cardiovascular disease. Researchers analyzed the eating patterns and mortality rates among nearly 92,000 US men and women over a 13.5-year period. 

Researchers discovered that lovers of ultra-processed foods, particularly women, faced great risk of suffering from deaths arising from cardiovascular disease. This study concluded that "high consumption of ultra-processed foods is associated with increased risks of overall cardiovascular and heart disease mortality."
