Women who are regular consumers of diets rich in fiber may have low chances of developing breast cancer.
This study evaluated the association between dietary fiber intake and breast cancer development risk. Researchers systematically reviewed data extracted from 10 studies that examined 712,195 subjects and 16,848 cases of breast cancer.
Researchers discovered that subjects with the highest consumption rates of dietary fiber had the lowest breast cancer risk. The incidence of breast cancer was found to decrease by 7% for every 10g per day increment in dietary fiber intake. The results of this study suggest that increased consumption of diets high in fiber may confer significant protection against the development of breast cancer.
