Is dietary fibre truly protective against colon cancer? A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Avid consumption of high-fiber foods may help fend off colon cancer.

​The aim of this study was to perform a meta-analysis on data extracted from studies that explored the association between high fiber diet and colon cancer risk. A total of 25 different sets of data was analyzed for this study. 

Researchers noted that higher intake of fiber-rich foods correlated with reduced risk of colon cancer. This study provides evidence that high fiber diets may help protect individuals against colon cancer.
