Risk of lung cancer and past use of cannabis in Tunisia.

Former smokers of cannabis may be highly vulnerable to lung cancer.

This study evaluated the correlation between previous use of cannabis and the onset of lung cancer. A team of scientists from the International Agency for Research on Cancer compared the use of cannabis with lung cancer occurrence among 337 Tunisian men.

The research team found out that the risk of developing lung cancer was high among former smokers of cannabis. "This study suggests that smoking cannabis may be a risk factor for lung cancer," the authors concluded.
