Effectiveness of Chickpeas on Blood Sugar: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Incorporating chickpeas into our diet may prove effective for keeping blood glucose numbers within a healthy range.

This meta-analysis assessed blood glucose control based on the frequency of consumption of chickpeas. A total of 12 studies was selected for this meta-analysis.

Researchers observed that the blood sugar of regular eaters of chickpeas was well controlled in this study. Evidence from this study suggest that creating more room for chickpeas in our diet may help to not only reduce but maintain blood glucose within the normal range.
